Holiday on Good Friday: Catholic Sabha Mangalore appeals State Government

June 5: It is known that the State Government had suspended the holiday on Good Friday recently. Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh during a press conference has appealed to the State Governement to declare a holiday on Good Friday.
President of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh Rolphy D’Costa said that Good Friday is one of the holiest days for Christians all over the world. It is the day remembered for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and is observed after 40 days of fasting. He stated that the decision of State Government to suspend the holiday has been a great disappointment to the Christian community and urged the government to declare Good Friday as a holiday.
