IMD Issues Red Alert For Dakshina Kannada & Udupi Districts on July 15 & 16

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several districts in the Malnad region of Karnataka, including Dakshina Kannada & Udupi warning of heavy rainfall till July 16.

Due to the extreme impact of weather disturbances in the Arabian Sea, the monsoon rains have intensified. Therefore, there is a possibility of more than 200 millimeters of rain daily in some districts of the state. A cyclone has formed at a kilometer-high level in the Arabian Sea along the coast of Maharashtra and northern Kerala. Its intensity is expected to activate the monsoon in various parts of the state.
