Infosys Foundation Yakshagana Development Centre To Soon Start For The First Time

February 10: Foundation stone for the Infosys Foundation Yakshagana Development, Training and Research Centre was laid by Palimaru Mutt Pontiff Vidyadheesha Theertha Swami on the site belonging to Yakshagana Kalaranga at Beedinagudde.

The Centre is being sponsored by Infosys Foundation at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crore.
Palimaru Mutt Pontiff Vidyadheesha Theertha Swami said that Yakshagana Kalaranga had been nurturing Yakshagana artistes and was also helping the poor students by providing scholarships under Vidyaposhak scheme. The Seer also mentioned that Yakshagana Kalaranga had not only contributed to the culture but also to the education sector in the district. Through the help of donors, various pro-society programmes are conducted by the Kalaranga.
