K.S. Hegde Hospital In Dakshina Kannada Begins Extraction Of Plasma For Therapy

August 24: The K.S. Hegde Hospital in Dakshina Kannada has received permission to open plasma therapy unit from the drug controller general of India after considering blood bank facilities.
The Hospital has begun extracting plasma from donors for treating COVID-19 patients from it. Already three donors have donated plasma which has been transfused into three critical patients.
Plasma can be donated by adults above 18 years including women who have not yet conceived, weighing more than 55 kgs and recovered from COVID-19 after 28 days of discharge from hospital.
