Karavali Astronomy Utsav Will be Held on January 11 & 12 in Mangalore: Here Are The Details
Mangalore Astronomy and Science Club (MASC) will organise the Karavali Astronomy Utsav for two days at Canara High School Urwa from January 11. The event will be held on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. and on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.
Star-gazing sessions will be held with multiple large telescopes including a 16-inch instrument, and participants will see the moon and its craters, Jupiter and its cloud bands and moons, the rings of Saturn, Venus, the Andromeda galaxy, and more.
The event will feature a meteorite exhibition and it will consist of two dozen such fragments of meteorite rock from around the world and will be presented by Bharat Adur, director of the Akash Ganga Centre for Astronomy, Maharashtra. There will also be an astrophotography exhibition featuring work by some of the top Indian astro-photographers, along with live astro-photography demonstration, poster exhibition, demonstration of concepts in astronomy, games and other activities.
