Kitchen Budgets Change As Vegetables Become Expensive: This Is The Reason

September 16: The Vegetable prices, which had declined during the lockdown, are going up every day. The main reason for this is the loss of the crop due to heavy rains. The crops start rotting whenever it rains continuously for 4 to 5 days. This results in a drop in supply and increase in prices.
As per sources there is a minimum 20% increase in vegetable prices. Prices have gone up by 10-30% in Mangalore markets. Rates of all the major vegetables have almost doubled in the last one-and-a-half weeks.
