KSRTC Likely to Introduce 10 Ashwamedha Classic Buses on Mangalore -Kasaragod Route: Click to Know

KSRTC Mangalore division is likely to introduce 10 Ashwamedha Classic buses of the state govt on the Mangalore -Kasaragod route as soon as the non-AC buses are sanctioned. The introduction of Ashwamedha buses, with stops only at major towns, will be a boon for interstate passengers even as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is also expediting the new six-lane road project between Mangalore and Kasaragod.
At present, KSRTC Mangalore division operates 40 buses on the Mangalore -Kasaragod route. Meanwhile, Kerala’s transport corporation also operates the same number of buses on the route. At present, buses on the Mangalore -Kasaragod route have nearly 50 stops on the 55km stretch. The introduction of Ashwamedha express service with only 12 stops will benefit thousands of commuters between the two states.
Once govt sanctions buses and staff, the division will prepare schedules avoiding the service roads so that the buses will run on the new six-lane NH-66.
