Lack of Bus Service Between Mangalore & Kasargod After 8pm: Commuters in Trouble

January 27: Government buses of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and Kerala State Road Transport Corporation have stopped services between Mangalore & Kasargod.
The bus services were suspended by both governments in March last year following Covid-19 pandemic and the service was resumed after 8 months in November. But the last bus departs at 8 pm from both places due to which the commuters are facing problem.
The officials of Kerala Road Transport Corporation said that the cases of Covid-19 have not declined in Kerala and there are no adequate number of passengers, the department has suspended bus services early.
Several youths from Kasargod are employed in Mangalore, several students from Kasargod region are pursuing their education in Mangalore and they are dependent on bus service.
Lack of transport between Mangalore & Kasargod has put these people in distress and they are  demanding authorities to extend bus services at least till 9 pm.
