Laksha Deepotsava: Udupi Decked Up For The Celebration

November 27: Laksha Deepotsava is being celebrated at Sri Krishna Math in Udupi, on Utthana Dwadashi day as per Hindu calendar. Laksha Deepotsava will be held for three days from Thursday during which the Garuda chariot and Mahapuja chariot will be pulled through the car street in the evenings.
The entire city is preparing for the celebration, where the people are seen buying, flowers, fruits, twigs of the Indian gooseberry and tamarind trees, and variety of earthen diyas.
The car street has been fully decorated, small wooden planks have been fitted into pedestal that were lined up for lighting one lac diyas. The pedestals stands are decorated with green festoons made of mango leaves and sugarcane crowns.
Preparations have been made to celebrate the festival as per the directions of the district administration.
