Local voters get furious as polling dates are nearing. Click to know why!
March 16: After the Loksabha polling dates are announced citizens of the country are waiting to caste their votes to their respective candidate. People who are saying away from their places for work or education purpose have to travel to their cities in order to caste their votes.
Taking advantage off this, the buses plying between Bangalore to Udupi during poll Loksabha elections have increased the bus fares to twice the normal fare. This move by the bus operators to increase the bus fares during the polling dates have created anger between people who need to travel to their respective places to exercise their vote.
People have termed it as daylight robbery. They are demanding the bus fares to be less for the sake off the country and are expecting a discount of 40% to 50% on booking of return tickets.
A responsible citizen mentioned that certain measures have to be taken by Election Commission to tackle this problem so that there is higher voter turnout.
There are thousands of people from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi & Karwar Disrict who are working in Bangalore, & if this problem isn’t solved, young enthusiastic voters may not participate in the polling process.
