Mangalore City Corporation Plans to Restore All Major Rajakaluves in The City to Avert Flooding

Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) has planned to restore all major rajakaluves (stormwater drains) in the city with the state government sanctioning Rs 65 crore. The city corporation has already sought a technical report from NITK for the same. The report will have suggestions to restore rajakaluves scientifically, so that the city does not witness artificial flooding again in future. NITK has been requested to conduct a survey and submit a report with suggestions to restore stormwater drains in the city. Experts from the institute will provide guidance to develop rajakaluves in a scientific way, so that water will flow to wards the sea through gravity.
