Mangalore City Corporation to Construct 15 Smart Bus Shelters in The City: Check Out

Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) has decided to build 15 smart bus shelters using the build-operate-transfer (BOT) mode. MCC has already identified the 15 places where the new bus shelters will be built. These 15 bus shelters will be equipped with all the necessary facilities aimed at enhancing commuters’ experience. From washrooms to drinking water dispensers, from digital display boards to information kiosks, the new shelters will in addition to making bus journeys more enjoyable, ensure that all passengers are offered necessary assistance.

Mangalore city mayor Premanand Shetty said that under the BOT model, the private agencies would be required to build and operate the bus shelters for a period of three years at the completion of which the management of the facilities would be entrusted to the MCC. All the 15 bus shelters to be functional before the monsoon, the Mayor added.
