Mangalore City Corporation to Soon Revise The Water Tariff: What is Your View on This?

The Mangalore City Corporation has proposed revising the current water tariff and usage for domestic users. The minimum consumption slab for residential water usage will be increased from 10,000 to 20,000 litres. Instead of the current tariff of Rs 6, each kilo litre will be charged Rs 5. The proposal has been sent to the state government and will most likely be implemented within a month.

Mayor Premananda Shetty stated that the previous charge of Rs 140 for 20,000 litres of water will be reduced to Rs 100 following the implementation of the new tariff. An additional 25,000 litres of water was billed at around Rs 185 and is now charged at Rs 155.
