Mangalore City Corporation Issues New Guidelines to Curb The Fear of Covid Third Wave

Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) has issued new guidelines in order to curb the fear of the Covid-19 third wave. MCC commissioner Akshy Sridhar headed a meeting at Mangala auditorium on November 30, Tuesday with the heads of various educational institutions in the city.

As per the new guidelines, students entering Mangalore city from Maharashtra and Kerala will have to compulsorily undergo an RT-PCR test done and must subject themselves to the test once again after a period of seven days. All the cultural programmes scheduled in the educational institutions must be postponed for a period of two months. All kind of workshops, conferences, and seminars which have been scheduled in the educational institutions must be conducted online. Verification must be conducted to check if all the students have received two doses of Covid vaccine. If multiple cases are reported in a college at the same time, steps will be taken to treat those students according to the Covid-19 guidelines. Primary contacts of affected persons whose test reports are negative will be quarantined for a period of seven days, after which they will be subjected to RT-PCR test to procure a negative report. Students leaving for a different state must take permission from their respective college heads.

All citizens under MCC limits haveto compulsorily follow Covid appropriate behaviour by wearing masks and using hand sanitizers. If an area under MCC has an unvaccinated population of more than 10 people, it must be immediately brought to the notice of the MCC authorities. An ambulance will be sent to the area on behalf of the MCC to conduct a vaccination drive.
