Mangalore City Is Gearing Up For 12Km Long Bicycle Lane: Know More About This

October 19: A 12 km-long route has been identified for being developed as a bicycle lane in Mangalore city.  This will soon be upgraded to make it fit for bicycle riding. A project worth eight crore rupees has been prepared and a detailed project report (DPR) on this has been submitted to the Smart City Project.
Surfaces at several places in uneven which will be developed. The the lane will have to be levelled with the help of tar using road-roller and wherever road-rollers cannot enter, interlocks will be laid. Display of boards at various points to show how long the lane lasts is also a part of the project.
Mangalore Smart City has planned a cycle4change rally on November 1 to encourage the people to use bicycles for their routine work. The rally will begin from Mangala Stadium and moves through the main roads in the city for about eight km. Interested people can register online.
