Mangalore City Police continue drive against cricket betting: 54 lakh seized

June 26: Continuing their drive against cricket betting in the city  Mangalore City Police have arrested five persons and seized Rs 54 lakh. The arrested have been identified as  Ravi, Uday, Ashok, Radhakrishna and Ditin.
City Police on its public display LED boards had urged the public to contact them in case of crime or emergencies. A person responding to display, had informed the police on the betting racket. The police had earlier appealed to the public to make use of social media to file complaints or provide information or get their grievances redressed.
The City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil said that the main bookie Karunakar is operating from outside, using cricket betting apps such as Play365, Play360, Lotus and Orange.
