Mangalore City Selected For A Study Of Sustainable Solid Waste Management By Government

MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar informed that Mangalore city has been selected on a pilot basis by the state government for a study of sustainable solid waste management.

The Commissioner said the agency which is presently entrusted with the task of door-to-door waste collection in Mangalore has been given a year’s extension. Once the new DPR gets approval at the Government level fresh tenders will be invited, he said. He said Mangaluru city presently has 300 permanent municipal workers.
