Mangalore Has Just One Electric Autorickshaw: Have You Seen It Yet?

February 29: An electric autorickshaw is being operating in Mangalore since a month.

53-year-old autorickshaw deiver, Robert D’Souza hailing from Ullal, is the only one in the city who has invested in the in an electric autorickshaw.
Robert says he has no issues with the electric vehicle and is charging the vehicle at his house every day since there are no charging station in Mangalore so far.
Robert mentioned that electric autorikshaws are more spacious when compared to LPG autorickshaw and will run up to 120km once the battery is charged for two-and-half hours.
This not only seems to be eco friendly but also cost-efficient. Many others have been thinking on investing on electric autorickshaw but are waiting for more automobile companies to introduce models as well charging stations.
