Mangalore International Airport Once Again Receives Hoax Bomb Threat Via Email: Security Beefed Up
Mangalore International Airport once again faced a bomb threat after an email was received on November 30, claiming that a bomb had been planted in the terminal. The email led to immediate security measures. The CISF personnel, along with airport staff, conducted thorough searches across the terminal and other areas of the airport. However, no explosives were found during the inspection. A case has been registered at the Bajpe police station, and an investigation is underway.
In the complaint to Mangalore Bajpe police on November 30, Central Industrial Security Force Sub-Inspector I.S. Jithendren, who saw the mail at 11.40 a.m, said the mail came on November 30 to mangalore-apsu@cisf.gov.in. The sender was akram_waikar@outlook.com. The mail referred to a demand seeking dropping of cases registered against former DMK office-bearer Jaffer Sadiq and Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s wife Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi.
