Mangalore International Airport Sets a New Record in This Summer Schedule: Handles 7406 Passengers in A Single Day

The Mangalore International Airport (MIA) on Aug 15 handled an impressive 7,406 passengers, including 105 infants—averaging 142 passengers per flight. There were 3,459 departing and 3,947 arriving passengers. With this, MIA set a new record in this summer schedule.

The current average passenger footfall at the airport is around 6,500 on average per day. The reason for the increased footfall on Aug 15 is because of the prolonged weekend. With decreased rain, tourism activities have begun. A lot of them are also taking the air route since trains are cancelled due to landslides and road connectivity is hampered due to potholes.
