Mangalore Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar Becomes First Cop to Use Tulu Lipi in His Name Plate
January 23: Mangalore City Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar has used Tulu scrip in his name board. With this, he becomes the first commissioner of Mangalore to do so.
Several organizations have been fighting for the inclusion of Tulu in the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution. Recently Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Dayanand Kattalsr has also appealed to CM Yediyurappa to accord the official status for Tulu language.
