Mangalore Police Register 25 Drunken Driving Cases on New Year’s Eve: Total 553 Vehicles Checked
The Mangalore traffic sub-division registered 25 drunken driving cases during a special drive conducted on New Year’s Eve. Mangalore city police commissioner Anupam Agrawal mentioned that the drive was part of efforts to ensure road safety during celebrations. A total 553 vehicles were checked across the city’s police limits, covering four traffic police stations.
In the special drive conducted, the Mangalore East traffic police inspected 90 vehicles at Nanthoor Junction and registered three cases. The Mangalore West traffic police checked 138 vehicles at Kottara Chowki and Kuntikana Junction, resulting in five cases. Mangalore North traffic police inspected 230 vehicles at Baikampady Junction, Kuloor Ayyappa Gudi, and Red Rock, Mukka, registering 11 cases. Meanwhile, the Mangalore South traffic police checked 95 vehicles at Pumpwell Junction and Padil Junction, filing six cases.
