Mangalore Receives Good Rains on Friday Morning: Water Level Rises in Thumbe Dam

Mangalore receives good rainfall on June 9th, Friday morning due to which the inflow in Netravati river has increased. The level of water in Thumbe dam which supplies drinking water to Mangalore city has been raised to 4.30 meters.

On June 5, the level was just 1.65 meters, whereas the full capacity height of the dam is six meters. At present, water is supplied on alternate days to the city.

As the inflow increased in Netravati, the level of water in AMR dam of Shambhoor started increasing. Accordingly, the water from AMR dam was flown to Thumbe vented dam. On Thursday, the level in Thumbe vented dam was 4.3 meters. Increase in the water level at Thumbe dam has resolved the water scarcity for the time being.
