Mangalore to Bangalore Has Seven Daily Flights: Fares Remain The Same
Even though Mangalore has seven daily flights to Bangalore, fares are still out of reach to common man, barring corporates and IT sector. The crumbling road infrastructure at Shiradi Ghat between Sakleshpur and Mangalore and the ongoing four-lane work between BC Road and Mani are the stumbling blocks for faster travel time between the two cities.
The airline operators assert the fares are moderate and cannot be reduced further due to high demand and low supply. While the return flight fares are above Rs 6,000, the single trip from both ends will leave passengers poorer by more than Rs 7,500, any day of the week. Plus adding the taxi fare of Rs 1,500 (to and fro) to the airport make the cost of travelling much higher. The travel industry says the fares must be at least 10% lower than the current fare.
