Mangalore & Udupi to Likely Face Shortage of Drinking Water Supply by End of March
There are high chances that Mangalore & Udupi will face scarcity of drinking water supply during the end of March if it does not rain. District administrations have held meetings to manage the situation and given instructions to taluk level officers.
Supply of water through tankers has already begun to some hotels, restaurants and marriage halls in the city areas. At present priority is not being given to supply water through tankers. Deepening of borewells and flushing is being carried out by zilla panchayats. Efforts are made to increase underground water levels.
