Mangaloreans Are Still Facing These Issues: Complaints During Phone-In Programme:
September 1: Several complaints poured in during the phone-in programme with Commissioner PS Harsha organised by Prajavani.
A caller complained that private city buses stop at unauthorized stops near Hampankatta and Balmatta which causes hazardous traffic congestion. Commissioner Harsha said that measures will be taken to ensure that buses stop at authorised bus stops only. Another resident complained that buses honk unnecessarily on PVS-Karangalpady stretch and over speeding by private buses is also seen which puts pedestrians at risk. A senior citizen informed that the Zebra crossing at hampankatta had faded. A citizen complained that push carts and street vendors on central market road were creating traffic congestion and causing a lot of inconveniences to the commuters. Along with this, complaints on trucks parked near central market for loading and unloading were also received. A resident complained that lack of footpath in Navabharath Circle was causing a lot of hardships to the pedestrians. A caller informed that the road near Sharavu Mahaganapthi temple is filled with potholes and is posing many problems to the motorists.
Responding to the complainst, Police Commissioner PS Harsha said that measures will be taken to resolve these issues at the earliest.
