Mayor’s Cup State-Level Swimming Championship to be Held in Mangalore on February 2

Mayor Manoj Kumar has announced that Mayor’s Cup State-level Swimming Championship organized by Mangalore City Corporation in association with We One Aquatic Club will be held on February 2 at the Yemmekere International Swimming Pool here.

The championship would be held in 14 categories for boys and girls. It was being organised for a non-medalist category to encourage budding swimming talents. There would be 70 individual events and six relay events at the championship. More than 350 swimmers from Mysuru, Bengaluru, Belagavi, Mandya, Puttur, Hassan, Mangalore, Kundapura, Karkala and other places were expected to compete in the event that will be conducted at the 50+25 m Olympic-standard pool. While the first three winners in each category would be given medals and certificates, those scoring the highest points in each category would be given individual championship prizes. Three teams scoring highest points would get the Mayor’s Cup prize.
