MCC Takes Decision On Waste Segregation: This Is Something Every Mangalorean Should Know
October 1: People living in 60 wards of the Mangalore City Corporation must segregate dry waste and wet waste before handing it over to the waste collectors. MCC commissioner Akshy Sridhar said that the dry waste collection will be on Friday while on the rest of the days wet waste would be collected.
MCC Commissioner the Commissioner said that fine would be imposed from October 2 against those failing to segregate waste. The fine ranges from Rs 1,500 for not segregating household waste to Rs 25,000 for dumping construction debris in open spaces.
Commissioner also informed that carrying plastic bag or sale of plastic bags is banned in the MCC limits and anyone found using the same or selling the same will be fined.
