MCC to have separate bags to collect sanitary waste

July 9: Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) will collect sanitary waste from residents on daily basis. The MCC has decided to keep separate bags for collecting sanitary napkins in door-to-door waste collection vehicles.
Waste segregation has been made compulsory by the MCC  from July 1. MCC has prescribed dry waste collection once a week on Friday and wet waste on daily basis. The officials received several queries over disposal of sanitary napkins and diapers. There was a confusion whether these waste fall undef wet waste or dry waste.
MCC has requested residents to wrap sanitary waste in a separate cover. Bags have been distributed to each waste collection vehicle to collect sanitary waste.
