Meeting Held By Mangalore Mayor to Check Measures to Curb Covid in Mangalore

The Mangalore city mayor Premananda Shetty held a meeting at MCC with the commissioner, nodal officers, doctors of the primary health centre and health department medical officers to check the measures to curb covid.
At present there are 1,226 active cases in the corporation limits at present. Two wards are found to have more than 50 cases each. It has been decided to ramp up testing and identify the primary contacts of the infected especially in areas where the cases are highest. The Mayor has directed the officials to setup of a separate telephone number and start a ‘Call for Test’ operation in the next two days, to identify primary contacts and subject them to mandatory tests.
Dr Ashok, district Covid nodal officer said that six teams have been formed to test samples of throat swabs and will be put on the field soon after their training.
Dr Sanjay Bhandary, the taluk health officer said that people who register online and priority groups are being vaccinated as per the directions from the district administration in a systematic manner.
