Mega Cleanliness Drive at Central Market Area on September 29: Come & Be A Part of This
September 27: To conclude the the five-year-long city cleanliness drive by Ramakrishna Mission in response to the Swachh Bharat by PM Narendra Modi in 2014, a mega cleanliness drive will be conducted at the Central Market, state bank car street and the surrounding area on Sunday, September 29. District In-Charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, will inaugurate the event.
Around 4,000 volunteers are expected to be part of the massive cleanliness drive and as many as 23 black spots in the region would be cleared of waste and steps would be taken to stop further littering in those spots. The Central Market will be closed during the duration of Shramadan.
Swami Jitakamananda, secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, said that the Swachh Mangalore drive was started on February 1, 2015 and the curtains will come down on the five-year-long city cleanliness drive on Sunday, September 29.
There will be a special seminar on Swachh Bharat Samarth Bharat at Ramakrishna Mission on October 1.
