MLA Vedavyas Kamath Urges Government to Strengthen Security at Major Religious Places

Mangalore City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath has appealed to the state government to strengthen security at all major religious places in Karnataka.

The arrest of Arafath Ali by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple was the target of Mohamed Shariq, who carried a pressure cooker with an IED that exploded midway.
The NIA probe has revealed that the cooker bomb blast plan was mooted by Arafath Ali. According to the agency, he was also responsible for the two Mangalore graffiti cases of 2020.

MLA Kamath mentioned that congress leaders should try to understand the gravity and sensitivity of the situation, instead of following the appeasement policy for vote bank. Since a temple in Mangalore was the target of terrorists, the state government should strengthen security in the religious places across the state.
