Mobile Planetariums at Pilikula: This is How the Students Made Use of the Opportunity

November 8:  The Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS) has brought two mobile planetariums for the exhibition being held at the science centre as part of the international full-dome film festival and planetarium conference, which began on Wednesday,November 6.
It’s on the 5-metre dome of this mobile planetarium that children are shown the starry sky and other objects found in the universe.  While one mobile planetarium is placed at the reception area, another one has been placed on the first floor of the centre.
Several students were seen standing in queue at the reception area of the Pilikula Regional Science Centre to have a feel of presentation inside the inflatable Mobile Digital Planetarium, which is placed a few steps away from the popular object that children play with marbles to understand the elliptical movement of planets.
The vehicle displayed nearly 20 exhibits related to space application and innovation. Students pressed the button near the exhibit to hear an audio clip about it. Among the exhibits displayed were ‘Orbits in sky’, ‘Launch vehicle’, ‘Disaster management’, ‘Telemedicine’, and ‘Health care’.
