More Plastic Seized in Mangalore: Third Day of Drive Against Banned Plastic

September 6: Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) officials had started a drive against use of banned plastic in shops of Mangalore on Tuesday.  Raids on shops and hotels in Central Market, Kadri, Shivabagh and Kottara Chowki areas were conducted.
On Thursday, the third day of their special drive four teams from Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) raided shops in Valencia, Mahaveer Circle, Bendoorwell circle, Karangalpady, Bejai, Suratkal and seized 83.37 kg of banned plastic. The MCC officials also collected a total penalty of Rs 36,750 from owners of 67 shops.
