Movement of Light Vehicles Permitted on Agumbe Ghat: Heavy Vehicles Restricted Till July 30

Vehicle movement on Agumbe Ghat that connects Shivamogga and Udupi districts was barred by Shivamogga district administration until 8 a.m. on July 12, due to a landslide in the ghat stretch of NH-169A. The district administration has allowed the light vehicles to travel on the road from July 12, 8 AM onwards after the work of clearing the road was completed. But, traveling by heavy vehicles is restricted till July 30.

The vehicles coming from the Shivamogga district can travel through NH 169 and 169 A via Thirthahalli, Koppa, Sringeri, and Karkala to reach Mangalore. Also they can use alternate roads by Thirthhalli, Masthikatte and Kundapur road, informed Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao.
