Music Lovers: Here is Something for You

November 7: Mani Krishnaswami Academy will be organising Raga Sudha Rasa national Sangeethotsava at Town Hall on November 8 & 9, at Ravindra Kalabhavana of University College on November 10 and at Bahuvachanam hall in Puttur on November 24.
Academy Secretary P Nithyananda Rao said that the students of Aarabhi Music Academy will present musical concert on November 8 (4 pm), followed by vocal concert by Bhamini K Bhat (4.40 pm). She will be accompanied by Ganaraj Karle on violin and Rakshith Sharma K R on mridanga.
The musical concert by Bharath Sundar from Chennai had been scheduled at 6 pm. He will be accompanied by R Sampath on violin, K U Jayachandra on mridanga and Giridhar Udupa on ghatam. On November 9—students of Krishnagana Sudha Music School will present musical concert at 4 pm. Yuva Kalamani award will be presented at a programe to be attended by Odiyoor seer Gurudevananda Swamiji.
The award will be conferred on Aneesh V Bhat. Dr Mani Krishnaswami Annual Award instituted by Mani Krishnaswami Foundation, Chennai will be conferred on Athreyi Krishna.
The Yuva Kalamani Award will carry Rs 25,000 cash and citation while the annual award will carry Rs one lakh and citation. A Carnatic-Hindustani Jugalbandi will be held at 6 pm, which will comprise of Dr Mysore Manjunath and Sumanth Manjunath on violin, Praveen Godkhindi, Shadaj Godkhindi on Basnuri, Pathri Sathish Kumar on Mridanga and Rajendra Nakod on Tabla.
On November 10, Nada Saraswathi Music School students will present musical concert at Ravindra Kalabhavana of University College at 4 pm. Veena concert by Aishwarya Manikarnike will be held at 4.40 pm. A violin-viola jugalbandhi by Vittal Ramamurthy and V V S Murari will be held at 6 pm. The duo will be accompanied by Srimushnam Raja Rao on mridanga and S V Ramani on ghatam.
On November 24, Gana Saraswathi Music School students will present musical concert at Bahuvachanam at 4 pm. A concert by Athreyi Krishna will be held at 4.40 pm, Anish V Bhat (6 pm). Vidushi Sharada Mani Shekar, Dr B Surendra Rao, B Seetharam Tholpadithaya, Vasanthi Padakannaya, Purushotham K Bhandary, Vidwan Kukkila Shankar Bhat will be honoured on the
occasion.
Nithyananda Rao said the Academy will felicitate senior Yakshagana Bhagavatha Balipa Narayana Bhagavatha on November 6 at 1
1 am.
