Need For A Weekly Train Between Bandra (T) & Mangalore: Check Out Why

January 24: The President of the Railway Yatri Sangha, Udupi, R L Dias has written a letter to the Union Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal requesting to introduce a weekly train between Bandra (T) and Mangalore, as there is an increasing demand for the service from passengers traveling to Mumbai.
In the letter he mentioned that hundreds of families from Mangalore, Udupi and Uttar Kannada districts reside along the 16 suburban railway stations, Dadar-to-Naigaon. To visit their native place by train they will have to travel to LTT-Kurla or CSTM terminals. They need to engage a taxi or an auto rickshaw which takes three hours on the busy highway.
Thus, they avoid traveling in trains and opt for bus. When the train ticket of sleeper coach is around Rs 600, the bus ticket is priced around Rs 2,000. Therefore beginning of a weekly Bandra(T)-Vasai Road Jn-Mangalore train is very much needed, he added.
