Need to Extend Runway at Mangalore International Airport: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel

July 3: The flight IX384 that arrived at Mangalore International Airport from Dubai, entered the unpaved portion of the strip due to being at a high speed, while turning towards the taxiway.
Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel raised this incident in the Lok Sabha during zero hour. MP Nalin said that flight IX384 veered off the runway while turning into taxiway, and mentioned that short runway at Mangalore Airport may be the primary cause for it.
MP urged the Centre to extend the runway and also carry out a out a thorough probe into the incident.
