New Commisioner of Police P S Harsha Promises to be People Friendly

August 11: Dr P S Harsha took over as city police commissioner on Friday, August 9. This is the second time he is serving in Mangalore. He had served as ASP, Puttur in 2007.
After taking charge as the 11th commissioner of Mangalore City, he mentioned that people of this region are cordial and law-abiding. Commissioner Harsha said that he will be people-friendly and firm in handling any situation as per the law.
Regarding drug menace, Commissioner said that he will study the magnitude of the issue and will formulate very firm strategies to effectively tackle the drug issues in the city. He also spoke about betting, rowdyism and matka cases and said the crime will be tackled in coordination with DCP crime. The commissioner also assured strict implementation of law with regards to cattle trafficking.
