New Eco-Friendly Swimming Pool Inaugurated at NITK Surathkal: Know More About This

NITK Surathkal inaugurated its new eco-friendly swimming pool on Wednesday. The facility strengthens NITK’s athletic amenities, supporting wellness and water sports activities. The pool, built to Olympic specifications (50m x 25m), features 10 lanes and utilises an advanced ozone-based purification system, eliminating the need for chemical treatments.

The construction commenced in July 2023, with an investment of Rs 7.3 crore. The project faced challenges due to the Lok Sabha polls 2024 and severe weather conditions.

The facility aims to serve both the NITK community and neighbouring regions, promoting health, strengthening community bonds, supporting local economic growth, and encouraging youth development initiatives.
