Now You Can Travel To Lakshadweep From Mangalore: Ticket To Cost Just Rs 200

March 4: The passenger ship from Mangalore to Lakshadweep island is all set to resume its operations from March 4, Wednesday.

People from Mangalore can now travel to Lakshadweep from the Old Port in the city. Currently, people had to travel by the ships and flights operated from Kochi to reach Lakshadweep.
This step by the Lakshadweep administration will now boost the island tourism.
A person needs to do to go to Lakshadweep is to get a letter from a resident on the island, sponsoring them and book a ticket from the counter at Bunder. One requires an entry permit issued by the Lakshadweep administration to visit these islands.
The vessel MV Minicoy will start sailing from Mangalore Old Port at 1 pm on Wednesday, and will reach approximately the next morning. There are tourism agencies that offer packages which include visits to various tourism spots and stay on the island.
Boarding the ship will start at 10am on Wednesday and the ship start sailing at 1 pm. It has 150 seats and the fare is Rs 200 per head.
