Officials In Action: Unauthorised Crackers Seized From Stalls

November 17: The government had paved way for bursting green crackers which are less polluting, on the occasion of Deepavali celebrations. The government had also instructed the district administrations to monitor and check sale of crackers illegally.
The officials from Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) conducted a surprise visit to the stalls dealing with crackers in the city and seized crackers which were not complying with the government’s ‘green cracker’ norms. The deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr Rajendra KV mentioned that there is a possibility of the stalls selling unauthorised crackers, had asked the official to make a surprise visit to the stalls selling crackers in the city.
