One Year to This Request By CT Ravi to CM: Will Tulu Language Ever Get Its Due Status?

February 17: Tulu, One of the oddest Dravidian Languages is yet to get its due status as official Language of the state. CT Ravi the then Minister had urged CM Yediyurappa to make the language official and include it in the 8th Schedule has not even been considered yet. It is exact a year today for the request.

The MLAs or MP seems to have no interest to make it official in state. Seems the people of Tulunad are used for vote bank politics. Several Tulu Language followers have got angry on this issue and are threatening the BJP government to make it official or face the consequences in the coming Vidhan Sabha Elections in 2023. With 14 BJP MLA’s and 2 MPs it doesn’t seem to be a tough task. It is either lack of interest or fear towards the Government.
