Only 50% Of Private Buses To Start Operating From June 1: Click For More Information

May 28: All the private & city buses in the Dakshina Kannada & Udupi  district, have been quiet for the past two months due to the Covid 19 lockdown.
A meeting was held by the Bus Owners Association in Mangalore on Wednesday during which it was decided that about 150 city and private buses will start operating in the district. It is almost certain that 50% of the buses will be off the road by June 1. About 20 city buses will operate in Udupi.
President of Mangalore City Bus Owners Association, Dilraj Ava said that they will obey the guidelines of the government but have brought to the notice of the officials that it might be difficult to check body temperature of individual commuters and also to collect their personal details.
Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, said that the bus owners have been given suitable instructions. DC also mentioned that the passengers and bus conductors have been advised to maintain social distance and wear masks. She said that decision on fare increase will be taken after an official order of the government is received.
