Partial Lockdown in Mangalore: Vendors and Owners of Commercial Establishments Furious

The state government has announced 14-day partial lockdown in the state from Thursday April 22. As per the guidelines by the government, only essential services will be available during the curfew. Construction activities, repairs, and pre monsoon works went ahead normally. Fair price shops, shops dealing food, pulses, fruits, vegetables, milk products, fish, meat, animal feed, banks, insurance offices and ATMs were open.
Following the notification from the government, MCC officials closed a few commercial shops at central market and market road. Several owners of vendors and owners of commercial establishments have complained that the administration was doing injustice as only shops are asked to be closed at market road and in the central market, but not other places.
