Permission to Use Drones is Now Mandatory: Police Commissioner is Issues Warning

January 19: Mangalore City police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that they had found some drones being flown illegally without having Unique Identification Number (UIN) and Unmanned Aircraft Operator Permit (UNOP) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Commissioner has warned that drones which are used in weddings and other private functions by violating DGCA rules will be seized and legal action would be initiated.
If any operator for any purpose fly drones without having permission they will be punished as per the law and the operators should produce documents to take permission from the police. he documents include UIN/UAOP issued by DGCA, drone specification, drone operator training certificate, permission of the land/property owner.
