Police Constable in Mangalore City Voluntarily Repairs Road: Video Goes Viral
Sharanappa, a constable attached to the Mangalore City West traffic police, on seeing the condition of the road, volunteered to fill the damaged portions using interlock pieces. The picture of a police constable filling a damaged road to make it motorable in the city has gone viral.
On Seeing Sharanappa at work, autorickshaw drivers and others in the area joined hands, and fixed the road, which was dug up for road development.
Roads at many places in the city are being dug up for various development works, and this has been causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians. In fact, Sharanappa was on traffic management duty at Rao & Rao Circle, which is very close to the State Bank bus stand.
The spot had become dangerous for motorists, especially two-wheeler riders. Senior officials and the public have appreciated Sharanappa for taking up the initiative.
