Police officials appreciated for their action against drugs in Mangalore

July 12: Police office are on high alert in Mangalore city due to increase in drugs. Several incidents of youth consuming drugs has been recently seen in the city. Police officials are taking several measures to catch drug peddlers and also create awareness in the city regarding drugs and its consequences. Mangalore Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil awarded Assistant Sub-inspector Ballal and head constable Mohan, attached to Kavoor police station on Thursday, for being alert and arresting two youth Gaurav and Rahul with packets of ganja in their car in Haripadav.
The commissioner also lauded narcotics cell Inspector Ramakrishna and staff for arresting two drug peddlers, Hafeez and Ibrahim, with 500 gm of ganja. The accused youth, who were residents of Ullal, were procuring drugs from Manjeshwar and selling in Ullal and surrounding areas.
