Rakha Bandhan Celebrated Differently: This is What The Youth at a Village in Dakshina Kannada Did!

As many as 25 youth from Mandekolu village in Sullia, came together and repaired a one km stretch of a mud road. They tied rakhis to each other, acknowledging the bond towards each other and celebrated Rakha Bandhan differently. The 25 men engaged themselves in shramadhan by repairing the road connecting Bolugallu, Bengathamale and Chakote. The panchayat provided all the necessary material, after which the team of youth came forward to work. The entire stretch is about 2 km, but certain stretches have been concretised. Due to the monsoon, it difficult for the movement of vehicles as the road had become uneven. The shramadan went for the whole day and will continue next week too.
