Second Tunnel at Kulashekara on Mangalore-Mumbai Railway Line to be Completed by December 2021

The second tunnel at Kulashekara on Mangalore-Mumbai/ Panambur line will get ready by this December completing the line doubling work between Mangalore Junction and Panambur (18.66 km).  The completion of the doubling, along with the second tunnel, traffic bottlenecks will reduce considerably. The electrification work of Panambur Yard was completed and the first electric loco-hauled freight train was operated in April this year. The pit line work at Mangalore Central will be completed shortly paving the way for construction of two more platforms at the station. This will help handling more trains from Mangalore Central.
